Why poultry records matter
A breeder may remember an exceptional hen or a disappointing hatch, but memory is not a dependable breeding system. Useful records reveal patterns across weeks, hatches, pens, and generations.
The goal is not to collect the most data. It is to collect the information that helps answer practical questions: Which mating produced the best chicks? Which pen has declining fertility? What does feed actually cost per saleable bird? Which line repeatedly needs intervention?
